Workshops & Coaching
Give a Man a Fish, Feed Him for a Day.  TEACH a Man to Fish, Feed Him for a LIFETIME.
We believe all dog owners can - and should - learn how to be effective handlers.
We offer Hands-On Training Instruction in a Group or One-on-One Setting.

Workshops and coaching provide you with a hands-on learning experience to train your own dog, either in a small group setting (up to 12 participants and dogs) or a special one-on-one session.

Bring your dog, your questions, your problems to trouble-shoot and find out how to successfully train your dog to be the companion you've dreamed of, both in the field and at home.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  We train dogs for HUNTING, not field trialing.  Training will not be geared toward field trail events, but rather to real-world hunting requirements.  We will also focus on obedience - the key to a steady, well behaved dog.

Our workshops are best suited for dogs which have the properly bred-in attributes of a good hunting dog and dogs with which you maintain a relationship (vs. his being a 'kennel dog'.)

We particularly focus on very young pups.  Our successful Jump Start Academy program starts pups at 4-6 weeks and produces 4-5 month old started pups.   We believe the younger you start, the better - so bring on the young'uns!

Our Training Philosophy

Dogs are pack animals & predators.  Their instincts tell them that their survival relies on belonging to a pack and maintaining their proper role within that pack.  Doing so assures a dog that he will secure his two most basic needs:
food & protection.  Therefore, your dog's greatest desire is to know what his role is within his pack (your family.)

Compassion to a dog means providing him with solid leadership, concrete rules and firm boundaries.
This gives him a sense of belonging, makes him feel safe, and allows him to develop confidence.
A good dog owner therefore, understands, accepts and fulfills his role as pack leader & disciplinarian.
