 Watch Rusty running long blinds:
Rusty is a couple months shy of two years old in this video.  He's getting brushed up for the upcoming duck season.  He does really well on the two first blinds which are relatively short - 30 & 80 yards.  But the last blind is at 200 yards straight west.  Rusty veers too far south and I stop him multiple times before he ends up about 300 yards out and off course.   I cast him north and he goes further south - maybe I'm too hard to see?  So I whistle him back in, send him again and he's spot-on!

Watch Rascal running long blinds:
Rascal is practicing a lot of stops & casts in this video to balance her ability to use
her own hunting instincts with more direction from the handler.  This girl often serves as the 'clean up' dog on hunts, she has a great nose and often uncovers those
'hard to find' birds.   I am encouraging her to look to me and take more casts in field.  By doing so, in the end, she gets the reward:  60-100-180 yard blinds.
