We Provide Foundational & Obedience Training for SAR, Therapy and Service Dogs
Certified NOLS/WMI Wilderness First Responder & NASAR Member on Staff

In addition to retrieving drills, water and gunfire, the pups below are also gaining
experience in scenting, agility & varying surfaces, problem solving and obedience.
Iron Spike Yeller's Stackin Quacks - "Quackers"

Quackers is a spitfire.  As a tiny pup, she had a knack for finding her way out of the puppy pen, so we were forced on a few occasions, to put her in 'jail', so the other pups could run drills in peace.  Quacks is so competitive, she would 'break out' to steal their retrieves! (That's her in 'jail' at 5 weeks of age.)

This adorable little gal's got tons of drive, a great nose and energy to spare.  She's courageous, creative & competitive.  These are all traits we
look for in a prospective service dog.

Playing 'Hide n Seek' with 3 month old Quackers.
Moisture & edge in a low lying area make scenting easier.
Agility and slick surface exercise.
She'll be great hunting ducks - or anything, for that matter!

Iron Spike Daisy Dukes A'Shootin'- "Shooter"

Shooter is one of those pups that lives life on the edge.  Full of vigor, a sense of adventure and a 'never say die' attitude, she is a pup whose courage and zeal is inspiring.  She embraces every new challenge she meets and tackles them with abandon.

Shooter is one of those rare pups who is  larger than life and just plain hard to not love!  She has a strong affinity for humans, loves the water and displays amazing tenacity.

Whoa!  I just caught a scent....     Where is she hiding????
Hmmm....   follow this along a cool, low air draft...
THERE you are!  I found you!
Trust exercise
Agility and changing surfaces.
Iron Spike's Honk n Tonk Hunter

Lots of focus and a poker face that never quits, Honk is just steady and sure.  His focus and ability to learn make him very easy to train.  He moved well ahead of his littermates during obedience training, which gave us a sneek preview of the kind of well behaved, controlled working dog he would grow into.

Honk has the potentional to be a dependable companion in a variety of disciplines.

Over 100F heat index - scent pools by low lying water holes.
Following the scent that pools at a low, cooler, shady edge.
Get after it, Honk!
All the pups love the water!

Iron Spike Sergeant's Aerial Assault - "Bomber"

If you liked our 2009 livewire of a chocolate male, Rebel, then you are going to love Bomber!  This boy is full of energy, drive and 'plan B's'.  Just when you think you have his next antic figured out, he comes up with another one!

Strong retrieving drive, love for the water and adventurous with a strong desire to please, Bomber is great to work with!

In high heat, scent follows cool, moist air currents that sink.
Can't go over the kayaks, he'll have to go around them!
Bomber wins this round of 'Hide n Seek'.  Good boy!
Bomber takes the plunge.
